UK moms - Help with Welsh name

Hello -

I like the name Talfryn. Various websites and baby name books show 2 possible pronunciations, roughly:
2 syllable - "Tal - vryn"
3 syllable - "Tal - eh - vryn"

I found a site that had sound, and that used the 3 syllable pronunciation. I'm wondering though if anyone knows a Talfryn in real life, and how he pronounces it. Thanks in advance!

I don't know a Talfryn but I am Welsh!

a single f sounds like a v
ff makes the f sound (as in flower)

I would pronounce it Tal-vrin.
I can see that a different local dialect might make it Tal-eh-vrin but most Welsh people, on reading the name, would go with the 2 syllable pronounciation.

I agree with welsh.

Have never known a Talfryn, but sounds like combination of tal and bryn so tall hill? thats my guess anyway.

if I'm right then the correct pronunciation would be tal-vrin

That's a beautiful name. I've never heard it either. My husband is Welsh, I am American and I am just 6 weeks pregnant and I've been obsessing over Welsh names for babies even long before I met him.  There are some beautiful names to choose from.
