Garlic for treating yeast infection

Thread Starter
I believe what I have is a yeast infection. I have inserted pro-biotics in gel capsules today and the exterior burning and itching is making me crazy. Any tips to help alleviate that?
Also have read on here that garlic cloves cure both yeast and bacterial infections. However I really don't feel comfortable inserting a garlic clove and fishing it out. Can I use a garlic gel cap that will melt and release the garlic? Has anyone tried that and does it work?
THANKS

I haven't tried it personally and don't know if it is a reasonable suggestion or not but I've read to use dental floss and thread it through the garlic, kind of like a tampon string, then insert the garlic. Again, never tried it, so??? Read that taking garlic internally also helps a lot! A probiotic might also help. Hope you're on the way to recovery!

Edit: Forgot about this and think it will help! In Healing with Whole Foods (Paul Pitchford), he recs using citrus seed/grapefruit seed extract internally for candida overgrowth. He also says that "specific liquid formulations containing the extract treat vaginal yeast infections (p. 619)." I recently purchased this to use as a throat gargle for DD's pharyngitis and it does mention treatment for vaginitis on the label. You ALWAYS dilute GSE when taking it or using it. I purchased a liquid form at Whole Foods.
