Inexpensive ideas for organizing my trunk

I have a station wagon. Here's what I carry:
a stroller (Maclaren Techno Classic--not big but not tiny either)
a fold flat blanket for picnics/pool/beach
my cloth bags (which I try to keep all stuffed in a large bag)
beach toys (buckets, shovels, etc)
(sometimes) a bicycle and a tricycle

I need a way to keep things in place so they're not scattered all over the trunk. I would think it would need to be light and secured somehow in case of an accident (so it wouldn't go flying and hit anyone). I'm also hoping it won't cost an arm and a leg. Any ideas?

there are tons of products like this:

I would befriend some bungee cords.. likely there are hooks in your trunk that you can use to fasten the organizer to, and you could also use the bungees to strap down the stroller/bikes. as well.

I repurposed a large box and a few Trader Joe's bags. My trunk doesn't look pretty, but it is organized.
