mittelschmerz??

Anyone here have a problem with painful ovulation? Have you found anything that helps? I had a tubal almost 5 yrs ago and have not had any problems until now. I noticed that my ovulatory cervical fluid was extra, extra heavy , but no real pain . When I went for a pap with my OB/GYN last year I told him about the heavy fluid and he checked for hormonal imbalance, thyroid, ect..a full pannel and said all was well. He said he was surprised how much fluid there was , but that it was harmless.

Now..last few months..I have had ovulation pain and this month was the worst. I took Ibuprofen and it didn't help. Dull ache in hips and around lower back..twingy ovary pain that switched to the right side this month..nausea..loss of appetite..and loose stools. I also have to urinate a lot..like my bladder is sensitive or I have a lot of fluid retention. I have these symptoms for a day and then they disappear. This month was weirder since I had stringy cervical fluid 1 week after my af. This month was also more painful. I don't have painful periods..very mild cramping and not usually heavy either. I did have a wack period a few months ago with lots of heavy clotting on the first day and some mild cramps. It tapered off and my period has returned to normal aside from being a few days late.

I have had painful O in the past (though not recently). I didn't do anything specifically to make it go away... it just did on it's own. But I do get nauseous with loose stools and grumpy around O time as well. I've had a hormone panel done recently (because of hair loss and shortened cycle) and I had high FSH and low estradiol. I don't know if that has anything to do with my O discomforts. Anyway, I'll be watching this thread to see if there are any good suggestions for relief.

subbing.......
and good timing on this thread for me. I've always been able to tell when I was ovulating - more discomfort that went away within an hour in the past, but in the last year or so the O time has been becoming more painful. The last time a couple of weeks ago, I was up in the middle of the night with cramps and pain for about an hour. I thought I might have been coming down with the flu.

I've been messing around with my magnesium and calcium supps for the past year -- which have helped in the past with the pain and discomfort and PMS in general, but have been completely off these supps for about 6 months now. Maybe that's just coincidence, and maybe not. I've just ordered some new mag & calcium supps and they should be here on Wed. along with some amino acids I'm going to try out for other reasons.

Just found this thread by searching for mittelschmerz. I'm having more and more painful ovulations these days - with achy lower back, hips and stomach cramps. I'll be lurking around on here to see if there's anymore suggestions for supplements that may help!
