I'm calling grad!

I think I'm ready to call DD a grad! She's 27.5 months, EC'd pretty much from birth. She was dry all day from 12 months on, but we had an independence pause when she turned two that she seems to be done with now. And now for several days she's been taking HERSELF potty--not asking to go or signaling, but just going all by herself. !!! This, by the way, is the kid who barely signaled EVER and who I took almost exclusively based on timing for most of her life.

Hope this helps some discouraged mamas!

The weirdest part is that I can honestly say that I feel pretty ambivalent about it. I'm happy...but at the same time I'm kind of nostalgic for the days when she needed so much more help with pottying. And I'm bummed I'm not getting more use out of the adorable trainers I just bought for this latest pause.

Eh, there could be potty pauses in our future still! But I really think she's done...

Yay! We all know we'll get there someday. Thanks for the affirmation that they do eventually decide that the potty is the place to go. Congrats to the EC grad!!!

Yeah, well, two misses today. :rotfl

But she also had diarrhea (which was 100% in the toilet), so I'm sure the pees were just because of whatever she ate that disagreed with her...probably watermelon.

!!! I *knew* that would happen if I posted this thread!

No worries though. I still consider her a grad. And those cute trainers are for my next baby.

Jealous! We are now officially potty training and taking dd1 every 30 minutes (have the timer set). It is too hot out for another summer of toddler diapers & I really think it is time.

I was going to ask you what kind of trainers and how much you wanted for them, lol!!

WAS definitely encouraging for me b/c my DS (now 8 months) doesn't signal either, lol. Your post gives me hope.
