We used a Rubber Maid Water Trough, and I found it too narrow and uncomfortable. I labored in it on and off, but I did not birth in it.

i got a la B pool here on the fsot. i got it because after the fishy pool, other stuff and shipping it would have cost the same anyway

I used an inflatable fishy pool. It was a good size, deep, and the sides were soft for leaning against. I labored in the pool but birthed on the bed. For whatever reason I felt very compelled to birth on dry land.

During my labor I focused intently on one of the fishies pictured on the side of the pool. After the birth I could not stand to look at that dang fish. I'd see him looking back at me and I'd think "stopping $%^&@ staring at me you dumb fish!"

I used the fishy pool, and I loved it. The sides were supportive and I leaned over them a good deal of the time. It was very comfortable. I'm going to buy another one for this birth. I don't see any reason to spend more when this one is so comfy for $30.

My midwife had a birth pool that she rented out for $100. It was pretty awesome. I can't remember what the brand was, but DS was born in the water.

I just delivered in a "Made in Water" inflatable birthing pool. It was brilliant! I had planned a home water birth with baby 1 but the pool was so uncomfortable and my labor really stalled.

This birth was incredible -- because the pool was inflatable, I could lean over the sides and edges comfortably. It wasn't too big or deep and was easy to top off with hot water to warm up.

I used a birth pool in a box and provided it's still in good condition will when i have another, though i very much doubt as it's burried under a pram, lawn mower, 4 scooters and various boxes of stuff

I birthed in the Birth Pool in a Box last time, and am planning to do so again. It's also been loaned to 4 friends, and is doing well. I loved the design, the depth, the handles, and the seat. The size was fantastic. It was amazing!

Used the La Bassine and loved it.

I had my baby in a fishie pool, and it was ok. I am really short, so it worked out ok. I have 2 Birth Pool in a Boxes that I lend out to clients and I will have any future babies in one of those.... they are so much deeper and roomier.

Yeah that!!! I just got my second fishy pool in the mail today for this coming home birth!!

I also liked the fishy pool because of the inflatable floor...which was heavenly! I was so afraid to sit down and feel hard floor on my privates...but it was soft, cushion-y, and just lovely!!

Also, the other thing I loved about the fishy pool was I cut out one of the fish for my son's scrapbook. I will do the same after this birth as well for the new little one's scrapbook.

I don't have a single negative thing to say about the fishy pool.

I picked 'other'.

We got a blow up pool that wasn't 'kiddie' or 'birthing'.

It was this one, but round. It was awesome!

I rented an Aqua Doula from my midwife. I needed to have something bigger than my bathtub, I am 5-10. I had a ton of room to move about and change positions. I did get too hot at times and would get out.

Planning on using the hot tub on my back deck.

OMG -- That is such an awesome idea! I wish I had done that with my other water births using the fishy pool. Bummer! I'm totally doing that this time. Thanks for a great idea.

I've used the fishy pool for my water births. I've used the big one and the smaller one. I actually liked the bigger one, but I'm 5'10" so that might make a difference.

I labored 2x in our bathtub- easy to change the water and get it hot- but I did not give birth in the tub
when attending births I really like the fishy pools- the bottom blows up and there is good back support - and mom can lean on the side of the pool in hands and knees
the aqua doula seems to be too deep for most moms to be comfortable pushing in the side is too narrow to lean on in hands and knees- nice for the gals who want to float but many moms want the comfort of water without the loss of control/floating sensation deep water has

I haven't given birth yet - my first is due in January - but I picked birthing pool and tub.

I've already ordered a La Bassine that I plan to have set up in our sitting room (we live in a four-story brownstone and I don't think that trudging up and down two flights of stairs from the family room on the ground floor to our bedroom on the second floor while in labor sounds like a barrel of laughs). That way I can walk back and forth between our bedroom and the sitting room where the tub will be.

Also, our bathroom has a big, almost double-sized bathtub and a steam shower stall so I imagine I can utilize both of those as well.

We'll see come January, though. I could be completely wrong. In fact, I'm sure that I am.

I used the BPIAB mini and it worked great. Easy to set up and take down, comfortable, and you can purchase the generic liner for $15. Oh and in case you're wondering, you can fit 2 people in the mini just fine.

Funny you should say that! For my second son I laboured in the family room until I was 6cm then climbed the stairs to get into the bath (was a huge corner tub, enough room for 3 adults) and that climb rushed me to 10cm. I wasn't supposed to deliver in the tub but didn't have time to get out.

My third birth was in a birthing center jacuzzi tub. Plenty of room but the jets did nothing but piss me off and distract me.
