Enzymes make you poop? How about bloody mucous?

So, uh, I started taking Thorne pancreatin + pepsin & betaine yesterday morning. I've now had a total of two full capsules, spread out over two days.

In the last 36hrs, I have pooped 6 or more times. Actually, fully formed, voluminous stool. Not at all diarrhea. What the heck?

This last one had bloody mucous woven around it. Is this related to enzymes? What in the world is going on in there?

About 30 minutes after I take the enzyme (with food), my stomach/abdomen hurts intensely for about 5 minutes. Then for the next two hours, pressure builds, including gassy gas from both ends (TMI? no such thing here!), then a sudden urge to poop.

So, reassure me that this is good and normal and yay. Thanks!

Here's a guess. Sounds like die off, probably small intestine bugs, given the speed you're seeing impact (or some people with h Pylori report similar symptoms).

DS pooped a TON when he first went on the enzymes too, and not diarrhea. Don't know what the heck it was clearing out, but it was insane. Lasted about 4 days. He got a little red mucous too - I think it was just from irritating his colon/rectum from all the poop (and probably poop with lots of garbage/die-off/toxins in it).

Could be you're just reacting badly to something in the enzymes, but it sounds pretty similar to DS' reaction (he also didn't seem to feel very well). But after that they rocked for him, so...

All I have to say is, all the theory that says pancreatic enzymes *should* be useless doesn't seem to be true in this corner fo the planet!

Sorry but I don't know how to post without quoting. I'm on my phone because we are out of town. I hope this works!

But when I tried enzymes for my ds a long time ago, they also gave him stomach pains. But I think I remember that they were more constipating
I used the Houston enzymes then. I want to try them again but maybe this time I should try the Yasko.

Isn't poop supposed to be mostly dead bacteria? Lots of poop around here, too, but I also have/had mag pretty high, and it seems to do that too.
