Refresher for Hypnobabies

Thread Starter
I used Hypnobabies for my second baby and loved it. I know some people have used it for other techniques and I'd like to try that but wondered what people did. I have an appointment coming up with a fertility specialist who is known for doing a very thorough vaginal exam that can be somewhat painful so I thought my HB might come in handy. What techniques did you use for things like that? And if you could be specific about how to do them, that would help. I lent my HB book out to a friend so I can't look stuff up and I haven't used it for over two years so while I remember using the finger drop technique and sending my anaesthesia to where it's needed, I can't remember exactly how to do it. Like, do I count from 3 to 1 or 1 to 3 and how do I come out of it and how do I do the one where I get into it but make sure I can still move if need be? Thanks!

You might want to ask on the hypnobabies yahoo group...

Have tried experimenting to see what "feels right"? I've used HB with two births now. The first time I read the workbooks and did the cds. For the second I only did the cds.

You can tell your caregiver that you need a moment to prepare and inform him/her that you are ready when you give a loud exhale. Then, take three deep breathes, telling yourself that you're entering hypnosis with no time limit. Use your finger drop technique (finger drops, eyes close, switch off). Use your Peace cue to breathe anesthesia to your pelvic floor, etc. When you feel ready, give your loud exhale to signal that your provider can begin the exam.
