We are moving back to PA after living in Asheville NC for 5 years. I will be working at lehigh valley hospital and want to live somewhere near it. I have been away from the valley for a while and can't figure out where we should settle. Want a good school district, a downtown area, culture...where should we live?

I'm in the Poconos and I don't venture out that way too often. But from what I've seen/heard it seems like either Bethlehem or Whitehall might fit the bill? Quakertown is lovely too, dunno if that's too far for you.

There are a few charter schools in the area, in case you don't want to let the quality of public school be a deciding factor. http://www.lvacademy.org/ and http://www.lvpa.org/ are two that I know of.

Downtown Bethlehem is best for you. Very walkable, lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. Still need a car for groceries, basics. Emmaus is nice as well and with more of a family feel to it. Also a good school district.
