undiagnosed twins - Page 2

alright, im late to this post, but i did not know i was having twins until 28+ wks. i only measured 1-2 wks ahead, and only at the end. the day after my u/s though, they both had the hiccups at the same time, so i would have found out then even without the u/s! by 33 wks, you could clearly see the outline of two babies in there, but i'm on the thin side to begin with (well, especially at that time, maybe not so much now!) i went on to become an ob nurse after they were born, and i do now wonder how the midwife missed it by palpation at 28-ish weeks. i never did measure more than maybe 3 wks ahead, and my boys were each 6 lbs 3 oz at 36w6d.

im wondering this too.. im suspecting twins, but i want a homebirth so i probably wont have an ultrasound (it would mean medical intervention ect). my midwife isn't sure yet, but i have only had one prenatal check up so far and only just hinted on my feelings.. i was measuring 25 weeks at 20 weeks..but i have had a feeling since very early on.. but again, im not willing to switch my care to an OB and my midwife is confident that as time goes on we will get a better idea. she had triplets so im sure she could palpitate twins at 30 weeks or so for me..im trying to figure our which bump is what but at 23 weeks it all feels so confusing..lots of hard lumps, lots of squishy ones.. i dont know..im thinking of trying to find 2 HB's with Doppler even though i detest Doppler as well.. but part of me just really wants to know! its a bit frustrating being so close and yet so far away. i dont want twins honestly and i want to ease my fears on that end.. but not enough to have an ultrasound..
