should I take baby camping...

if she has a cold? She seems quite happy, she just has a runny nose that bothers her a bit. We should leave in two days and sleep in a tent for two nights. The camp site is at 1 hour drive, so we could come back anytime if she's not feeling well.

It would be our only chance to go camping this year because of dh's work schedule and I wouldn't want baby dd to miss it. At the same time I wouldn't want her cold to get worse because of it.

Baby is 9 months old and the weather is very hot here, even at night.

WWYD?

I would go. We go camping about 2 hrs away from home and have the same deal. If anything starts to not look so great we could go home.
Dh could even bring us home and go back to break down the campsite if we had to. Ive been going for yrs with little ones and never once had to come home. This year Im nursing a new baby and the milk doesnt stop leaking! I couldnt stand the smell of myself in a tent this year.
Next year for sure.
Hope you can go- and have a great time.

I wouldn't go camping if *I* had a cold, so it is unlikely I would go camping if my children a had a cold, but that's me.

I have gone camping with my children when they were well from as young as 3 mo. I love camping, but not when I am sick. When I am sick I want a comfy bed in a cool dark room with lots of fluffy blankets and plenty of fluids.

I would give her lots of Vitamin C and nurse lots between now and then and hope she gets better, and if it were me I would leave her with someone else for the weekend, or skip the trip this year.

But that's me.

Personally I would go. DD has had a few runny noses and she too was perfectly happy throughout, a little more fussy at bedtime, but that's about it. I would probably just be a little more cautious, checking temp and BF'ing as much as possible, but you will only be an hour away so if she cannot hang you have an out.
Have Fun!
