I don't normally post in this forum, but I did want to sing the praises of a great experience I had yesterday at McCormick and Schmick's. I'm a new mom to a 9 week old, and my family wanted to go out to dinner to celebrate Father's Day. My mother, who is very supportive of my breastfeeding (she breastfed both me and my brother), called the restaurant to make the reservation and told them that a nursing mother would be in the group and could they please put us at a table were I would feel comfortable? (This was my first time nursing in public, and I had no idea how it was going to go).
We got to the restaurant, and the table we got was in a nice, cozy corner. In case I did not feel comfortable nursing at the dinner table with our rather large party, McCormick and Schmick's also reserved the adjacent booth so that I could nurse with a bit more privacy if I wished. I did end up using the booth when DD got hungry, and it was perfect! I'm glad to say that I survived my first experience nursing in public!
So often in this forum I see posts about businesses who are hostile to breastfeeding in public. As a result, I wanted to sing the praises of a restaurant that is super breastfeeding friendly!
