Working out when you're sick?

How much do you push yourself when you're feeling blah? Do you take a few days off? I'm currently doing the 30 Day Shred DVD and I skipped last night and Friday night because I've got the makings of a sinus infection and yesterday was the worst I've felt in a few days since it all started. I was in bed by 8pm!

Anyhow, should I just try to suck it up and work through it? I feel like a failure if I don't. I'm really trying hard to stick to this, but the two days that I skipped, I couldn't see myself doing anything but sleeping and taking it easy. Like today, my sinus infection is about the same, but I want to start on the last level of this program as I have 9 days to go before it's complete.

What would you suggest?

This has been on my mind too! I read up on it, and the "official" line is that everything above the neck it fine - keep exercising just be gentle. If you're feeling muscle aches or a chest cough, skip it.

I've had a cough and fatigue, but generally OK. I tried to push myself and had to quit my workout last week. Took an extra day off. Since then I've been easy on myself and gotten some good endurance in.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Thank you. I've got a bit of a cough, but nothing flemy. Maybe I'll just stick with Level 1 of this program and just keep doing the modified versions. I just get so tired at the end and can't wait till it's over. Before I got sick, the workouts flew by for me and I was fine.
Ugh - sinus infections just plain suck.

If I have a mild cold (some sinus drainage and a mild cough) I will work out and I usually feel better afterward. If I feel even a small twinge of achiness or a fever then I skip it to rest.

Usually working out makes me feel better.

Yeah, I pushed myself last night eventhough I do have a bit of a cough. I felt okay afterwards - really tired, though, so I went straight to bed. I did a little cardio, a little strength and a little abs - probably 30 mins worth.
