we're really lame. we just go with "new baby".

but not THE new baby. just "new baby".

although i think my dh will be calling this one "last baby"...

I was thinking "Junebug" since he/she was conceived on June 1st DD's womb-name was "Beta" (as in version 2). With DS, we just said "the baby".

What a great thread!

Thanks!

I'm not sure yet, I know we need to come up with something soon because dd has decided we are calling the baby "Sarah". Now besides the fact that I don't want to name the baby Sarah, we don't even know if it is a boy or a girl.

Fun thread! My DD was called "Turkey" since I was due around Thanksgiving. This baby has been called "the Butterfly" and "Slug" in the last couple weeks after looking at pictures of what the baby would look like at 4 and 5 weeks pregnant. I'm not sure if any other nicknames will come along...

Cute thread The peanut, the munchkin, and the bean.

Maybe Baby Valentine, since that's my due date.

With my kids, once we found out the gender, my xh and I picked out the worst names we could find in the baby name book and that's what we called babies until they were born. We dodged "have you picked out names yet?" questions by answering with our garish names.

I, uh, won't share the names, in case anyone knows anyone with those names or is thinking of naming their baby one of our terrible names.

Currently, it's "Your child" when I'm talking to df when baby's making me uncomfortable

Great thread! My OH keeps calling it a "bean," but I've named it Baby Kolache, since i'm a good Czech girl

Ours is baby "tutu" because my DS came up with it. When DS was inside we called him Cupcake because our nicknames for each other are Hollycakes and Mattycakes...so he was our little cupcake!

Right now, my husband and I are calling ours the "sesame seed". But, of course, he/she is only the size of a sesame seed for this week, so that won't last too long. I guess next week we'll have to use "split pea" and after that "navy bean". Ha!

We are calling ours "Teeth".

My top 2 wisdom teeth got infected a few weeks into this pregnancy and I HAD to have them removed which is something they usually won't do until your second trimester. Soon after the surgery my husband named the baby "Teeth"

I can't remember what we called my daughter when I was pregnant with her.

This one is Popcorn, or little Popcorn.

First = Spud
Second = Boo Baby
Third = Tiny
This one is Mucho which is hilarious if said with the Italian last name but means something else phonetically in Spanish.

Herm o Hermie (Her/Him combo) for our first
I can't remember what we called the second. (Probably "the baby" since our daughter was only two and we were teaching her what was going on.) My mom and midwife called it "Sprout", which I hated.

LOVE the idea of picking a hideous name for it. I'll have to find a gender-neutral one. Off to the baby name books!!

That is GENIUS! And now I totally want to know what names you used. I'm so original, I've just been calling s/he "baby". But we'll need to come up with something else once we tell DD and others....

When we were kids the ultimate hideous name was "Gertrude" (I've never met anyone IRL or online with that name, so I *think* I'm safe there...) so maybe we'll call her that.

I'm already convinced it's a girl.
