vitamin D in the summer

is it possible to be deficient in vit d in the summer? I am outside all day long. I know I was deficient in early winter (was tested by endo). Just wondering if I should keep supplementing...

Yes, it is possible. You may want to get re-tested. If you are still low (meaning below 50, not below 30 like many tests will say), you should still supplement. I plan to re-test every 3 months or so until I can get a feel for what it takes for me to stay at normal...that is, when I ever get there.

okay - thanks. I was at 28 the last time I was tested. I will have to call my endo - since I only see her once a year. I guess I am surprised that the sun doesn't do it - I dont' wear sunscreen religiously...
