Feed me now!!!!

I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that I have never in my life been as hungry as I am today!
I have been wanting to eat almost hourly.
When I was out shopping and DS was in pre-school my belly was properly growling so I had to go and buy a banana!

Everyone has been telling me that I'm 'small' for dates etc so I wonder if suddenly babe has decided she would like to chunk up a bit before making an appearance?!!! Also think I've slightly dropped so maybe there's more room in my belly for grub!

This is what I've eaten today. Any tips or feedback gratefully received on keeping hunger at bay and growing a healthy baby!

Breakfast: Oatmeal, full fat milk, honey, raisins, chopped apple and berries. De-caf coffee, OJ
Breakfast 2: Berries with greek yoghurt
11am : slice of bread and butter
Lunch @ 12pm: Smoked haddock, a few new potatoes w/ butter, sugar snap peas, baby corn, slice bread and butter
Afternoon: Banana
Later afternoon: 1/4 tub hummus w/ breadsticks
Dinner: Chicken breast, mushrooms, large salad w/ a little cheese, baked potato wedges
Cupcake and berries w/more yoghurt for dessert

I have been very hungry too! I made a pan of brownies and I swear I could eat the whole thing!!! It sounds like you are making healthy choices though (like, not brownies) so I would just keep doing what you are doing! I remember having neither the time nor the energy to eat much of anything after I had ds, so I am enjoying it now for as long as I can!

( I have not actually eaten the pan of brownies - just one small corner!!!)

Well there was the cupcake and yesterday, my Dad had a bbq and for dessert I had 2 servings of banoffee pie with a side of profiteroles. But with fat free fromage frais on top instead of the cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mmmmmm.... FOOD!

Most of this pregnancy I have been struggling with a diminished appetite, but for the last few days I can't get enough to eat! I am starving!!! It does feel nice to be enjoying my food now.

I've found that if I have some good protein in the morning like eggs or beans I'm not quite so ravenous by my mid-morning snack time.

Plus, that doesn't even sound like a lot of food to me! I eat that much by dinner time easy

I have a super fast metabolism though and I started this pregnancy being underweight, so my midwife has had me eating at least ever two hours throughout this pregnancy...preferably every hour and a half. That's how often our babies will be eating (even more often really) so it makes sense to me

Just think, we'll be even more hungry when we're nursing!

I've been hungry too. Your intake looks pretty good to me, maybe a little carb heavy but if you have the metabolism for it then it's probably just fine. I' have to watch the carbs a bit, my body doesn't respond well (no GD, just my metabolism). I try to focus on healthy proteins and veggies but these days I want cheerios and fruit all the time Hopefully I don't grow a 10lber as a result!

I've been really hungry this week too, after having basically zero appetite for the last couple of months. I've heard babies gain a lot of their weight in the last month, so maybe that's why.

Wow Welsh, you've really been putting it back today! Your meals sound really delicious btw.

I too have been crazy stupid hungry on and off these past few days. Dh has been laughing at me and how much I've been eating. I'm a little worried because I feel like I've been putting on weight myself now... swelling around my face and ankles, and my thighs suddenly seem much fatter... that said, I'm going to make myself a nutella sandwich now, even though I have heartburn.

We're fattening up our babies!

I am hungry and know I need to eat every two hrs or so, but don't have much of an appetite. (if that makes any sense!) I think it's just that I don't have the energy and standing is painful after 5-10 mins, so I just don't feel like preparing the food. If someone was making me stuff to eat, I'd probably be scarfing down the chow all the time!

I have eggs every other morning and they definitely keep the hunger at bay longer. I'm prone to getting constipated easily though and had haemorroids last pg that terrify me!
One of the reason for the OJ and berries.

I do not have a fast metabolism and was overweight getting pregnant (although at my lowest weight for years).
Amy - I hadn't thought it was carb-heavy, but you're right.

Any suggestions for quick and easy snacks that are more protein-rich?

I'm very fortunate that now we've moved in with the in-laws, MIL is happily clucking round the chicken like Mother Hen and making lunch and dinner every day!

I'm needing someone to feed me at the moment. I'm so hungry, but nothing seems to tempt my appetite. I almost wish I lived in a hotel with an awesome 24 h buffet just so I can pick and choose at a moment's notice. Alas, I must console myself with the contents of my cupboard and fridge.

Ravenous with no energy to cook here as well. I woke up from a deep sleep at 5am (3 hours before I need to get up and 3 hours after going to bed) not because I have to pee, but I was starving. Can't go back to sleep unless I eat, panicky hungry. Bowl of cereal and a banana later and hopefully I can sleep a bit more.
With pg #2 I gained 12 pounds from 30 to 39 weeks (when she was born). I'm 35 weeks now and I've gained 4 pounds since 30 weeks with this one.
