Mamas, please tell me the rest of you are eager to get out of the house, too?

Park play tomorrow. The usual time. White Oak Park?

Park play Wednesday? The usual time. Suggest away.

I'm out for tomorrow. My car a/c sounds like wombats have gotten in there and are dying a slow painful death, so I've gotta take it in.

I'm in for Wednesday, though! My last play date!

ETA: Just an FYI that it's supposed to be 95 tomorrow and 97 on Wednesday!! Yuck.

Rhi, so sorry to hear about your car. And the hot weather! Would a pool visit be a better choice for all involved?

AprilDawn, when you stumble on this thread, weren't you thinking of hosting soon?

I wonder if we ought to split into smaller groups and have inside playgroups on super hot Wednesdays? Our group has gotten big enough that I don't think we all fit comfortably in anyone's house anymore. Maybe during the summer we could plan to all meet outside if it's below 90, or break into smaller groups at 2-3 different houses if it's above 90? Just an idea so we don't melt like we did last week.

Want to join me and Carhootel and our kids at my pool?
We'd love to come, but Tuesday usually ends up being my "catch up" day-esp. after DH has had the kids on Monday! So today is laundry (like almost every other day!) grocery, bank, dishes, phone calls (yeah right!) etc etc...I think I have 13 things on my "To-do" list today...I have 2 things already crossed off and at least 2 more already partially done...

BUT -we are definitely in tomorrow -I'm paying today so I can play tomorrow.

Oops, sorry seeking Joy..but now that there is no school...we are sleeping late. DD has dentist appt in the morning today.. I'm free all afternoon if anyone want to come swimming in the refreshing pool.

DD has so many activities every day... I'm just the chauffeur. So it's actually nice to get to stay home.

Same for Wednesday..I could have the play-date..or AprilDawn..or Marbles..or Lake Johnson Pool.

I'd love to "meet" a pool tomorrow, but we should be in either way
post #11 of 41
So what's everyone feeling like? I'm game for almost anything. I'm not really sure how the pool works with the twins (want to do it with my husband first), but I am definitely up to hanging out regardless. I am comfortable with stroller and twins and Gman so if pools is where everyone is thinking that's cool.

a pool somewhere sounds fun, though if there is no shade we may not stay long. i'm not sure how to prevent sunburn in an infant without over heating her. i have a swim diaper and a hat.

The pool at Lake Johnson is the only public one I know about, although I am sure there are others. It has shelters, an 18inch kiddie pool and then a sprinkler section.
Yeah, there are 7 public pools...I've been to a few. At least one is in a not-so-great area. 4 of them have spraygrounds/pools. I used to love Optimist the best but haven't been back since they renovated it. We went to Millbrook last fall, but it doesn't have as much shade as Lake Johnson does. I think Lake J is the most centrally located one (not sure!)

If we do a park tomorrow (we could do a pool Friday as well or instead) I may try to get there even earlier than our "normal" time to try and avoid the heat. I'm not sure I can do it though. It's one of my goals for the summer-to get my butt going earlier.

I would love to do Lake Johnson pool tomorrow if that's what we decide

It opens and 9 and we can be there right around that time to grab one of the tents

Sounds good to me! This will be the first playdate that Lorelei can actually participate in! She's super excited.

We are out. :-( DS#1 has an appointment at 1pm, and the baby has pink eye. No one wants to swim with that! LOL

lake johnson pool sounds great to us! I'll be there at 9am since we like to beat the heat (and get an early nap time )

I was hoping that we would decide on this-after spending the afternoon sweltering on my driveway. I'll try to get there early too....last week it worked out well. Maybe I'll drive the truck so I can bring the wagon too....
