Any way to make my laundy fragrant?

I'm curious what people use for laundry detergent. I typically go with seventh generation or the trader joe's laundry detergent thinking they're at least better than some of the more commercial alternatives (although please tell me if I'm wroing). I must admit, though, that I do like laundry that smells good and mine has virtually no smell at all.
I don't use fabric softener (althought I've tried eco sense liquid softener) and am curious... do any of you have any eco-friendly methods to make your clothes not only clean but smell good, too?
i'm also open to any detergent alternatives that would keep me from buying those huge plastic jugs!

I kinda miss that 'fresh' smell too, even though I know it's artificial . Trader Joe's used to and maybe still does sell some lavender dryer bags that worked to give a little scent. If you want to avoid commercial detergent and packaging completely you can make your own using soap, borax, etc. I actually haven't done it but keep reading and thinking about it. Lots of info out there on it if you search. You can use a natural and good smelling soap as your base and I imagine that would give a nicer smell (or add essential oils or something to your mix? I'm not sure--just throwing out ideas ).

In my opinion if your clothes are clean they shouldn't smell. I would buy some essential oil and put it on wool drier balls to give your clothes a nice smell.

We use Charlies Soap and I go threw fazes where I miss the smell and will hang pieces of cloth with essential oil in my closet. My clothes don't really smell very much but my closet smells wonderful lol. I am scared to do the drier trick because I cloth diaper and am worried about oil build up.

Sometimes I'll put a drop of lavender or lemongrass or tea trea oil on a damp cloth and toss it in the dryer with my clothes as they're drying.

Go to tipnut dot com and look at the homemade laundry detergent recipes. Even if you stick with your current detergents, you can add essential oils for some fragrance.

However, I have found that the homemade detergents work better than the commercial detergents I was using.

Also, line-drying really ups the good smell factor! Especially sheets and towels and rags and such. Sunshine and fresh air .... MMMmmmm! Clothing can be tricky here with the intense sunshine (fading) in the summer, but nice in the winter. We tend to dry in the dryer for a few minutes (10-15) and then line-dry outside or inside (based on sun exposure).
