VT - encapsulating placenta

Does anyone know of someone in VT who dries/encapsulates placentas? I'd rather not ship it out or do it myself. I suppose I could do the drying if I knew how. I don't know much about it yet and I'm picturing it hanging in my house with my cat trying desperately every day to get to it! LOL I don't have a dehydrator.

I'm in Rutland county but would be willing to drive a ways if necessary.

it's not too bad to do it yourself... i can't find my recipe right now, but you cut the membrane from it, rinse it well, steam it and then slice it up and put it in the oven (on a cookie sheet) at a low temp until it's dry. i then grind it up--you could encapsulate.

not sure if anyone does it--maybe you could check with a local midwife to see if they know of someone...

my midwifery student does a great job encapsulating placenta. She has done it for some clients now and myself. She lives in ME but she works with me in NH and VT. we have an office in Barnet, VT. I'll PM you her info.

Thanks Natanya! I have no idea where Barnet is. I'll have to go look that up.
