FWIW I have had people ask me before I was showing before, and when I asked how they know most mention the pregnancy glow (usually older people that I think seriously can spot it) and others mention the fact that Im buying maternity clothes.... oh... yeah... heh....

well, I don't know my bmi but it's up there I'm sure. I'm five foot and about two hundred pounds. I don't even look at the scale when they weigh me in at the doctors office-I know it's just a number, but I dont' want to get hung up on it and get any more upset than usual. I do have high bp this pregnancy, but I think a lot of it has to do with being home a lone a ton with a very roundy toddler. No time to relax, plus just so many hormones and mood swings this pregnancy compared to last. My ob doesn't give me any problems about my weight. I'm sixteen weeks and haven't had my gd test yet, so I don't know when I'll take one. I have told him that it made me ill last time, and that I was open to the one hour test but not the three hour test. He seemed perfectly fine with that as long as I would be willing to test at home. I am for my own peace of mind anyway. My last pregnancy, the gd issue was such a huge pain. I failed the one hour (um, nobody told me to fast, thanks...) then they would make me fast for twelve hours before coming in for a test, make me wait an hour, and then tell me I couldn't test then (my hubby worked nights so we could only come in the afternoon, and they would say that was fine until I got there and then the hospital would tell me that I could only be there at eight in the morning or earlier...f u, buddy.) Fasting that long was not good on me...I need a small snack at least every now and then.

I have pooched out faster this time than last pregnancy, though I haven't gained much weight with either. I love th way Motherhood Maternity fits on me, and have some tops from old navy. There are a few of my own outfits I can still wear as well, just depends. I wear a lot of skirts and dresses outside of pregnancy and most of them have some extra give.

Am I the only one perfectly fine wearing maternity clothes outside of pregnancy? They fit my fluffy frame pretty flatteringly. So I'll wear my tops and dresses for quite a bit.

happyhats... I was in a similar situation when pregnant with my first. I failed my first GTT (no one told me to fast), took the 3 hour and was borderline, so was sent for the 5 hour, which I passed. Now I see midwives who have me eat ACTUAL FOOD before my gtt - not drink the syrup. I think last time I ate a pb&j on white bread, an apple, and had a glass of OJ... then had my blood test and hour later. Much better and more accurate, especially for someone like me who doesn't consume a lot of sugar and doesn't consume hfcs.

Really?? I am doing mine on Tuesday (18w) and told my MW I would NOT drink the glucola She told me to not to fast, but to eat a high protein breakfast two hours before the test, drink an Odwala OJ, then we will draw blood an hour later.

I failed my GTT in my last pregnancy because I was fasting. I had been bedridden a week before my test and lost 10 lbs, then failed my 1 hour by a couple points. I then failed my 3 hour by 2 points, they drew #1 15 minutes early and it was 1 point too high, #2 was right on time, failed by one point. The third test at 3 hours was 52 points lower than passing. And for that I got labeled with GD and now I have to have TWO 2 hours this pregnancy. Ugh.
