My mom bought me some Dr. Bronner's liquid soap. How do you use it? She just said she heard there was lots you could do with it.

Thanks!

Body soap, face soap and hand soap mostly. You can dilute it, and put it in a foaming pump for handwashing, from what I've read. I've been using it full strength though, and now I've run out
You could clean with it, there's all sorts of 'recipes' out there for cleaners, using vinegar, Dr Bronners and essential oils. I haven't tried it yet, I use 50/50 vinegar/water.
I've used it to wash veggies, instead of just rinsing them off.
The website has ideas too.

I bought some last week for making my own toothpaste. I quite like it, although it does have a slightly funny after taste.

We put about half soap/half water in the foam dispenser and it still gets hands clean!

I use it to wash my face, or a few drops to deep clean the kitchen table or counter.

The only thing I didn't like it for was dishes--it didn't cut through grease very well. (Though if you don't eat meat that wouldn't matter.) We use 7th Generation dish soap.

With water and veg glycerin in a pump dispenser for hand soap. We use the lavendar and everyone who comes over raves about it. (I use less than a half-and-half concentration, FWIW.)

I put it in the foaming dispenser at a ratio of 3:1 water:soap. This works well, lasts forever.

I just got some recently and also put it in a foaming soap dispenser. I've just kept dispensers from old soaps but you could buy them too I'd guess if you don't have one. When I looked up the directions it said to dillute it either 1:4 or 1:5 so I dilluted mine 1:4 and it works very well (1 part soap to 4 parts water).

Oh, I got the citrus and it smells yummy. I think next I'll try the peppermint cause it seems like many people like it.

We use Dr. Bronner's as body soap, hand soap, and to wash the LO's hair. We also add a bit of it to homemade kitchen cleaner, to cut grease. You can use it to wash dishes. I've heard it can also be used in the laundry, although I haven't tried it-- wouldn't it make a lot of suds? That's always been my worry.

You'll definitely want to dilute it.

I'll have to try a small bottle of the citrus next, just a warning the peppermint is... very very pepperminty!

While I mentioned the toothbrushing, we did use it for a lot of other uses - shampoo, handsoap, and still mix it in our all purpose cleaner. Overall it was very drying for us and that's after we diluted it down to like 1:4 for use. now I only buy small bottles and continue to tinker to figure out what is the right strength for us as a family.

Thanks everyone. I will have to get a foaming handsoap pump, as that seems to be the most popular use. I will also add some to our cleaners. I've heard it burns if it gets in the eyes, so I don't think I want to use it on DC yet in the tub. I don't remember the exact kind we have, but it smells like sweet almonds, yum!

Its the Almond one... I agree that one smells heavenly especially with a touch of lavendar with it too.

I've used it to get a bad grease stain out of my husband's work pants. The stain came out easily, and didn't leave an oil stain.

I just bought a gallon of lavender for $36 from the Vitamin Shoppe to use for household cleaning, diaper covers, and body soap.

Bodily uses: foaming hand soap, face soap, shaving cream, body soap. Too drying for my hair. Does burn eyes quite a bit.

Cleaning: Mix Dr. Bronner's with Dawn and water as dishsoap. A tad w/vinegar and water in spray bottle for cleaning countertops and cutting boards.

I washed the dog in it too, just used conditioner afterwards, being careful around the eyes.

I use it for handsoap in the kitchen and bathroom. I dilute it in reused foaming dispensers, about 10-20% soap, the rest water. I have had lots of comments from guests about how good it smells.

I also use it in a homemade cleanser. Dr Bronners and some baking soda. I used to premix it in a bowl, but now, I just sprinkle some baking soda, then drizzle some dr bronners in the bathroom sink, and I let dd do the cleaning. She loves it and I don't have to worry.

Soulemama recently posted a recipe for homemade laundry detergent using dr bronners bar soap, so that's my next project.

I always use either the lavendar or the peppermint.

We mainly use it for hand soap and to wash the kids hair. Don't use the peppermint on the girly parts. I had a bar of peppermint in the shower and my daughter thought she would wash her own heinie while I was cleaning the bathroom. I turned around and she was crying because it burned.

I only buy almond now, which I prefer anyway.

For everything!! For laundry detergent for sensitive skin DS (1/8c. of Baby Mild plus 1 T. Washing Soda). To clean grease off anything! Mixed with water and a small amount of borax for bathroom cleaner. To wash my face and shower with. DH uses for showering as well and loves the squeaky clean feeling. For bath wash for DS and DD (avoid eyes, even with the Baby Mild). Diluted with water for hand soap. For anything that needs cleaning--it is amazing!
