Experiance with MRSA, can I talk to you?

I have been googling but I would like to hear from people who have dealt with it as well.

My dad currently has suspected MRSA it is inside his scrotum so isnt just a sore on the surface

I am not sure what his prognosis is but as of right now they are taking it a day at a time. He may need surgery and if it comes to that he will more than likely loose one of his testicles

Right now he is doing OK he is in the hospital on IV meds for the pain and 2 types of abx in case it is MRSA. He dosnt have a fever which is good because that might indicate sepsis is setting in and that scares me.

They hope to get a culture of it if it starts to drain but as of right now it isnt and the Dr. dosnt want to do a needle aspiration because of the pain that would cause.

Anything you want to share will be most welcome.

Hmmm, I would want to make sure it is MRSA and not something else. I just read an article about necrotizing fascitis (sp?) (the flesh eating bacteria)....they weren't sure what it was at first, but that has to be caught quickly. I would ask for additional opinions and definitely get a test to see exactly what it is.
