For Charters-13.5 Weeks Pregnant Heard Heartbeat But Temp Down

It is possible the thermometer is broken, yesterday we heard our baby's heartbeat. I've been in the 98.0-98.6 range upon waking since pregnant. If I was 98.0, it would only be for one day. Yesterday (the day we heard the heartbeat), my temp was 98.0 and today it was 97.9. It is supposed to stay up the whole pregnancy, right?

I did take my temp again 10 mins later, after I got up, with another thermometer, and it said 98.8, but, I had gotten up, so I know it would be a little higher. I just realized I should try with the old one again, and it says 98.5, so maybe I have nothing to worry about. Maybe the old thermometer is off?

PUT THE THERMOMETER DOWN. NOW RUN AWAY! There is no reason to continue temping after you get a BFP...you are only going to scare yourself!!

(HUGS) Your baby is healthy and your body knows what it is doing

There's no reason to temp during pregnancy, you're just going to stress yourself out. There's no standardization for pregnancy and it's normal for body temp to fluctuate during pregnancy.

All is perfectly fine, I'm sure.

Seriously, don't take your temp again unless you suspect a fever. You are going to drive yourself nuts-o!

Oh Mama!! Put that thing AWAY!!! Didn't you know...your charting thermometer gets to retire either in your night stand or medicine chest for 9 months after it did its job.

After you have your 18 high days (and even that can be tricky) you're good!

You're preggo! Worry about good stuff like 'oh god what if the baby has three arms!' not temps!

ITA with all of the previous responders. Temping now will only serve to make you INSANE!!! Seriously. Our bodies are dynamic organisms, SOOOOOO many things contribute to your AM temp while pregnant. QUIT!!

Just wanted to give you a reason why your temp might have gone down some - the placenta has more than likely totally taken over at this point, so your progesterone and therefore temps are not going to be reacting exactly the same as they did before when your corpeus luteum were producing the HCG. More than likely the corpus luteum has started to disintegrate, and that produces estrogen which is a cooling hormone, hence the temp drop. Hope that helps! Just means you have a strong pregnancy where the placenta has taken over and things are going as they should!

Rachel, I thought that the phase of pregnancy might be related, but I couldn't find the info you've given, thank you so much!
