Deep Shade Plants

Hi! I sooo do not have a green thumb, so I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me out. I have an area in my small backyard that is deeply shaded by our screened-in porch and large trees. It's right under the overhang from the porch roof, so tends to get a lot of water from run-off (no gutters) when it rains. Also, I live in Ohio, so occasionally we do get droughts. I'd prefer something perennial. What kind of plants would be good in this area?

We have some columbines and ferns that do well in that shade. Half of our yard is like that, so I've been looking, too.

You can do lots of nice wet plants...you could try a wet meadow wildflower mix...jack in the pulpits, trilliums, swamp dogwoods...

THANK YOU! This is right up my alley! I've even found a local plants nursery with tons of good info on it.

Awesome! Our yard is also wet/ very shady, so I'm glad for the info.
