i had my first prenatal appt today.....and i am surprised i am still standing after having a roller coaster visit...
the backstory is that i have had 2 babes and 2 m/c....and this pregnancy started off with what i thought was a "late BFP"....here is that story.....

anyway, today...uhhh! midwife feels my uterus...she says i seem like around 8 weeks. (i am thinking mid 7 weeks...ok....i can go with that)...she gets the ultrasound machine...my ute is wayyy tipped forward. but she looks around, spends some time with the u.s and then says ... there is "no baby"....gives me condolences, hugs, etc...i should expect to start miscarrying...
i'm in shock! and sad. but not really surprised with 2 previous m/c
she sends me down the hall to the u/s tech to double check....well, well, well looks who's there now.... but a baby! with a heartbeat~!
i am measuring 6w4d, heartrate was 138....
based on the fact i started getting light BFP's June 1st and on, midwife thinks I ovulated late with spermies that had been hanging out in there for a least a week. (see above linky!) And saying the first BFP's line up with 9-10 DPO (as in my prior pregnancies)...well then I am right on target with the u/s measurement.
so we'll see where this pregnancy leads but holy moly, today was nerve wracking and i was having serious flashbacks .....i really need a cocktail
