Contact Solution? Frugal Suggestions?

We are using Clear Care for our contacts but it is a little pricey. Any suggestions on other brands to try? We use to use Renu.

I use the equate brand/store brands. They are much cheaper.

Another idea I've been meaning to try-- we've been using a 3 in one solution (ie store, rinse and clean with the same solution.) I wanted to find out if it would be cheaper to buy the saline, soapy stuff, and the storage solution seperately. I can't seem to find it in stores anymore though.

I use the Target brand of 3n1. Works fine.

Just thought I'd mention that if you have a medical flex spending plan, you can use it for contact lens solutions.

Nope. We are a Missouri Medicaid provider.

We are trying to cut back on spending as much as possible. I keep cutting and cutting till there won't be anything left.

Walgreen's has a register rewards deal for Renu this week IIRC. So you should be able to get it for free or maybe better than free if there is a coupon (provide you need something else at Walgreen in the next two weeks.

In general I think glasses are more frugal. But I wear glasses because I dislike contacts.

i just use the walmart brand.... i hate wearing glasses and do so the least possible having them on my face gives me headaches

Walgreens and CVS both frequently run speicals with the pricier brands where you get the full amount back to register rewards/extra care bucks. I know Rite Aid did a rebate on the better brands not too long ago too. I can't use store brands. They are too drying!

Although DH uses the name brand stuff for cleaning and storing, I got him to switch to plain generic saline solution for rinsing. I know it is pennies, but every bit counts.

I usually get the CVS solution when it is on buy one get one free.

I use Optifree and buy it on sale with a coupon. Otherwise, get it at Costco either buying it myself or when my parents come to visit they take us on a Costco trip with them buying. I would be willing to try other brands, but I don't want to go too cheap regarding my eyes. If other brands work, then great but I'd otherwise stick to what works.

I use the Costco Brand. IIRC it is like $8 for 3 bottles. Plus it comes with a new case

Costco brand. Cheaper than I've found any elsewhere and I find it works better than name brand.

We will have to try the pharmacy rewards programs. I've been considering it, though DH is skeptical we'll actually save any money.

DH uses Renu most of the time for cleaner, generic for saline. His has super-sensitive eyes, so it's not been somewhere we've been willing to cut.
