would a woven wrap have enough "poppability" for ECing an infant?

Our first little one is due in Dec., but Dec. in central coastal FL. So, it might be 85 degrees by the time baby is 8 weeks old. For this reason, I don't want to go with the traditional stretchy/jersey cotton moby-type wrap material. Specificaly, I am looking at the Wrapsody (gypsy mama) bali breeze gauze/woven wrap.

However, we are planning on doing EC, and I need to be able to get baby in and out of a carrier without too much trouble. Does a woven wrap have enough "give" that it would be quick to pop baby in and out for a potty opportunity?

I also plan on having a ring sling, hot sling, and some type of soft structured carrier (currenly interested in Pikkolo) so I really just need to know how well with the woven wrap would work for about the first 6 months.

Thanks!

I personally would have found using my woven wrap to be too difficult - those little buggers can pee almost every 15min (I started ec-ing my DD at 4wks) I primarily used my maya wrap ring sling but when I was out of the house and chasing my 2yo DS I used a homemade jersey cotton wrap. My DD is now 11mo & I use my mei tei and my ring sling way more than my woven wrap (she is very wiggly and the mei tei holds her better on my back)- But, again, because of the frequency of newborn pees I definitely would recommend an easily adjustable carrier like a ring sling

If you're full time ECing, trying to catch every pee and poo all day every day, then I probably wouldn't use a wrap with a newborn. If you're part time ECing then it wouldn't be that big of a deal. It's not hard to get the babe out put it takes a moment to get them back in, re adjust and make sure your wrap isn't twisted up. With a little older babe I would probably just pop their bottom out of a kangaroo hold.

I personally like the Maya ring sling for EC a newborn in summer time. I love woven wraps but not in the first months with an EC baby.

I EC'd part-time from birth, and as long as I pottied her before putting her in the wrap, she could go for about a half hour to an hour (sleeping) without peeing. Then I would take her out, potty her, and put her back in. When she wasn't in a carrier she went about every 10-20 minutes.

I loved the wrap, but I could never get the sling to work when she was tiny, it never felt right. So for me the wrap was easier. With my son (who was not EC'd) the sling was easy, so it might depend on the carrier and how easy it is for you. I think a pouch carrier would be easiest.

I use a pouch sling for my newborn and i love it, and it's not at all hot. mine is a no-brand one, made in guatemala with wonderful woven cotton. my midwife sells them....
