question about "safer" age at time of vax

Hi,

My question to you wonderful researching mamas is, what age do you think would be a safer age to vax. I know all vaxes at any age are not w/o risks, but my feeling so far is that the younger a baby is, the more vulnerable baby's brain and immune system is to a reaction. Is this a good conclusion?

I recently read this really interesting article on NVIC.org Web site by Dr. Lawrence Palevsky about vaxes and babies' immune systems. If you scroll down he details TH1, TH2 and TH3 immune system development and how vaxes bypass the immune system. (Starts at A Little Science Review.) I was really intrigued by this, especially
"In theory, if the TH system is allowed to mature, and is not interfered with, children will develop a mature, balanced TH1, TH2 and TH3 immune system by age three."

My DS is 1 and partially vaxed. (2 Pentacels, 1 Prevnar). I don't feel in any great rush to vax him right now and still continue to research (and delay) further vaxes.

Thanks for sharing. I'd love to know what you think about this article too. It was adaquately supported by great references too.

Disclaimer: I am a non-vaxer!

I think it was a great article. I have viewed several of Dr. Palevsky's webinars and find him very knowledgable. I had began learning about the immune system and how vaccines skew the immune response before I had heard of Palevsky. I think certainly if one is of the opinions that vaccines are necessary and actually work, than waiting until a child is older and their immune system has matured and balanced more is wise. This is assuming however that a child has no immune system issues from the start.

My son has multiple allergies. I can image that his t1 and t2 systems are out of whack. He is totally unvaccinated. We are working on these issues, but I would not feel comfortable vaxing him even ate age 3 or older if his issues have not been resolved.

I haven't read the article, but the very first thing that started me questioning vaccines was one of my best friends. She is an FDA compliance analyst for a vaccine manufacturer. When I was 7 months pregnant with my first, she sat me down and told me that she couldn't reveal any information about her job or particulars about what she was referring to. But that she wanted me to know that when she has children, there is no way she would vaccinate them before 2, and even then she might not do it at all. I was stunned, as I had never even thought to question vaccines at all before that time. I thanked her for her advice (in relative shock and not sure what to think or where to go from there), and started researching. We ended up being a no-vax family, but since you asked about the "safest" age, I thought I'd pass that piece along.

My oldest was vaxed and on a delayed schedule...he still suffered a vaccine related injury. Even if none of his docs want to believe me..I know he's on the autism spectrum because of his vaccinations. He had late vaxs and a late onset of autism like symptoms. My second was going to also be partially and delayed vaxed but after a severe reaction to prevnar and DTaP I finally just said "no more"...I will not be vaxing in any form with my third child. I have heard people who wait to vax their toddlers or older kids. I remember getting shots when I was around 4 or 5. But I still wouldn't do it at any age after our personal experiences with them. They are always trying to get me to get a rubella shot after birth since I'm not immune. (I was vaxed too as a child) But I won't do it.
