Little boy underwear???

Thread Starter
I am having the hardest time finding underwear for my small 2t sized guy. He cant wear the regular briefs that they sell in most stores because the exposed elastic irritates him. I would like something that has soft covered elastic with no characters. I wasn't real happy with my daughters Hannas. I think they would swallow my little guy up.
I love the softness of the Under the Nile underwear, but the xs was HUGE on him. What does your small guy wear???:

Thanks

The only underwear that fit my tiny ds at 2 was from the Gap. I don't even shop at the Gap, but we got a bunch in a bag of hand-me-downs and they fit long before any other brand did.

I ordered the XS Hannas after measuring my 20 mo. DD and although her waist measures 16", they are pretty huge and they droop so low the crotch is at her knees. So, she just doesn't wear underwear at all and pretty much only wears soft cotton pants so it's comfy to go commando. Not much help, but I understand! I'm going to keep my eye on this thread and see what comes up.

gerber makes *potty training* unders that are super soft and 100 cotton with no exposed elastic. They are a little bulkier in the middle because they are meant to wear duirng pl but all my boys wore even after as they were the most comfy. I believe they go up to size 4t and nave no characters, mainly stripes and solid colors

I also use the gerber (traning) undies for my dd who has a super tiny waste, and they are comfy.. she doesn't need the extra padding anymore but they are comfy that she still likes to wear them!

Gymboree fit my tiny guy perfectly in the beginning. The waistband may irritate, though, as I don't think they are covered.

Have you thought about trying to find some boxers? I see WAHM boxers on hyenacart all the time. I bet you could even get some custom made.

I second the vote for hyena cart. Thankfully we haven't had an issue with the elastic, but my ds is very small too and I don't want the characters (he got one package of Thomas underwear he picked out after potty learning). The ones I ordered from a seller on hyena cart are cute. I'd look for someone who is willing to do a custom size for you

Gap & gerber (plain cotton) fit my tiny 2 year old without any irritation or other challenges.

Another vote for Gerber trainers here. We also like the way Hanes fit (smaller than Fruit of the Looms and other brands we tried), but they do have the exposed elastic waistband. The Gerbers are super soft and we do still use them even though DS is fully trained, just b/c we have them already and they're so nice and soft.

JC Penny's has their own brand of Gerber like, we think much softer and much cheaper, no exposed elastic and you can shrink them using hot water and laundymat dryer.

The have solids and prints, no characters.

They fit tiny ones.

You should check out The EC Store (http://theecstore.com/), and click on "Tiny Undies" on the left. Since these are geared toward younger children (hence "EC" - or, Elimination Communication), they are available in smaller sizes. I bought the "Itsy Briefs" for my boy -- the little alligators are adorable, and the waistband/legs are super soft, no exposed elastic.

A second for The EC Store. My favorite two pairs of underwear for my 19 lb boy came from there--Under the Nile XXXS, if you can believe that size! They are a bit pricy, but they've fit him since he was 2 months old (he's 15 months now) and haven't worn out or outgrown yet.

For a less expensive option, I hit the thrift stores for newborn-size diaper covers--not anything waterproof, but what baby girls (I think) wear under dresses over their diapers. We got 4 at one store for 25 cents each. On my skinny-legged boy they don't gap when he sits down like other underwear does.

another vote for the gerber padded trainers, they will be small enough and they are super soft with no exposed elastic or characters. My DS has been going on the potty for 6+ months and has tons of character briefs but he loves these and always puts them on, he calls them "my soft cozy underwear," because of the padding.

Gerber padded trainers and Gap are the smallest we own.

Another vote for both Gerber and Gap. We have Gerber padded kind in 2T and Gap regular cotton in 3T. Both are pretty tiny and fit my 18 mo well (not tight but won't fall down).

If you are in Canada, Zeller's brand Cherokee make XS briefs that are also pretty tiny. A bit bigger than the Gap ones but they are soft and stay up. They also make a long brief style (whatever those are called, like shorts - so cute, just like daddy wears!).

Yup, Gerber. DS isn't tiny, but his waist is (still wearing 18 month pants because of the whole no diaper thing... that and him having no butt whatsoever ). We inherited some 3T Gerber trainers from a coworker of mine and they actualy stay up. They're ridiculously baggy, but they stay up! I can only imagine that were we to actually splurge on correctly-sized underwear, they'd fit great .

I should clarify: DS HAS correctly sized underwear in his collection (exposed elastic so of no use for this conversation). But we also use the big ones cuz... free training underwear!

DS has a few different ones, but my favourites are Fruit of the Loom boxer briefs from Walmart and some custom ones I got on Hyenacart. Both have enclosed elastic.
