Quick (please!) I need a goat answer!

We just got our first goats and one of them is in milk but has no kids with her. She has been being milked once a day in the morning. We want to start milking her twice a day to increase milk production. Does it work that way? Is there anything we aren't thinking of? Does this have a chance of working? DH wants to try it tonight for the first time. So I'd like to know if there is anything we're not thinking of. Thanks!

I'm not positive, as we're not milking yet, but I *think* you can do it. I just wouldn't expect as much milk each session, at least for awhile.

Yep, it's just like breastfeeding. Supply and demand. The more often you milk, the more milk they will produce (within reason). Don't expect to get a whole lot at first from the second milking, but after a couple weeks you should be getting just about as much as you get from the first milking.
