Pregnant mama w/ contact Dermatitis--please help!

okay---so I know I've got myself in a hole right now.

I am 4 months pregnany and a little bit before I got pregnant I got these weird dry patches under my eyes....then they went to above my eyes---I tried not wearing makeup for awhile--making sure to take my mascara off with my fingers (and not getting it on my skin) i tried neosporin and coconut oil ---needless to say--it has gotten really bad and I have red patches mostly around my eyes---then two below my chin and one above my lip.

Finally I went to the dr yesterday and he prescribed me Pimecrolimus cream. now I am way against drugs and I'm PREGNANT...but thinking--oh topical will be okay and I look like a leper and I am going to Hawaii in a week for a romantic getaway with hubby! ----okay so I put one dose on my face last night--and was reading the insert--and realizing--umm yea it's absorbed into my body and there's no tests on pregnant woman (and I "think" it binds calcium and in animal tests the babies showed delay of ossification of their bones--which I am 18 weeks and the ossification of my baby is starting and I shouldn't be binding calcium right now!!) so of course I had nightmares all night and don't want to continue with this cream.

I know there's other options.....and I know what you "may" say. but I need to hear it. 1st off--these are the face items I use and I know it could be any of these--it would just be SO expensive to replace--ah!!:

Dove soap bar for washing face
coconut oil for moisturizer
bare minerals powder foundation and bisque (like concealer)--then I wear blush and their eye-shadows which I LOVE --then I use mary kay mascara.

When he called it "contact dermatitis" at the office---(which I didn't think that was what it was since we've never had that stuff)- it clicked with me--because I think it started right around when I was having dairy here and there (since i was done nursing)--I have also been having small amounts of soy since I'm done nursing (like in veganaise, etc)--- so what are the odds that it is a food and not the list of above skin care products?!!

of course I'd love to go completely off dairy TODAY but I am about to go to HAwaii and eating gluten free is going to be hard enough--maybe I will go off it when I get back? (we got next sunday until the next sunday)-

any help or Duh you's would be appreciated! (p.s. I am gluten free and went off dairy and soy for my nursing DD--when I first went back on dairy I would have small bowel problems if I ate a lot--however I've been having a little here and there and the problems went away--maybe the symptoms then changed into my face problem?!) AH!H!H I just want a normal face again and a healthy baby growing inside of me!
p.s.do you think i'd be okay to just do 5 days of the cream to see if it helped improve it a little before I go to hawaii or no way- anyone know more about this drug?!!

I think that it's definitely possible- especially if you're using all the same skin care products that you normally use. And it occurred right when you changed your diet.

Maybe try going dairy/soy free until you leave, and then just avoid obvious dairy while you're there? If it is from the dairy and/or soy, you should see improvements right away- like within a couple days I would think.

Did the doc know that you were pregnant when they gave you the cream? I would at the very least call the pharmacy and ask them if it's safe during pregnancy if you really want to use it. Of course, if you use it and it works, you won't know what the root cause is. I would definitely go for the diet modification first and see if that helps.
