What did you do today? - Page 2

Dd got up at 8. Cuddled with her while she drank some kefir.

She saw the neighbor kids out and begged to go play, so I sent her over to play with some butterfly tattoos to share with everyone.

Did the dishes twice.

Made three batches of muffins, marinated the chicken for dinner, made a new bread recipe. Mopped the kitchen floor. This was about 4.5 hours of my day.

DD came back hungry. Dd hung out and watched PBS while I worked in the kitchen.

Dd went down for a nap around 3.

Finally got a shower for myself around 4.

Went swimming with DH and played with DH. Played with neighbor kids while DH and I played badminton.

Should really be cleaning up the dinner mess but I'm pooped. Lots of stuff didn't get done today. We're prepping for family to visit and I'm behind.

Ooh, fun!

My kids got up around 7. Took our time getting downstairs and made breakfast.

Woke DH up and pushed him out the door for work.

Jumped on the bed.

Ate some blueberries, drank my coffee.

Went out for errands - bank, Kinko's to send a fax, AT&T (where I couldn't actually get a phone today because I couldn't get ahold of DH to figure out what he wants to do with our contract, despite the fact that my phone is in its final throes), Best Buy to replace my power cord for my laptop (kids licked it too much and now it doesn't work ).

Brought everyone home for DD's nap and "mommy Andrew special time" (aka, playing crazy pretend games and telling stories).

Fixed "bug salad" for lunch. Kids ate and ate and ate. I ate.

Ate more blueberries. Ate Nutella off a spoon.

Went outside for about three minutes. Came back in because we were all sunburned and melting.

Drank tons of water.

Went out for final errand, getting stamps.

Watched clouds with the neighbor kids.

Mailed a birthday card.

Ordered 2 SSCs for upcoming vacation because I just couldn't narrow it down to one.

Fed everyone dinner, packed DH off for his night out, bathed kids, threw them into bed at 7PM.

Now I'm just relaxing with Ben and Jerry. What a great day!

PS: I think we can write for multiple days - I love reading about them!

Today DD woke up at 4am wanting to play "shark" with all of us. I had been up half the night peeing/with lame going nowhere contractions so this didn't make me happy, and I told her SHARKS SLEEP AT 4AM!!! Eventually she fell back asleep until 8 thank god.

Made yogurt with granola + croissants for breakfast.

Sat around and grumbled about being tired, read some books, talked for a bit with DD and wrapped up/made cards for the 3rd birthday party we had to go to.

Waddled to park for birthday, sat and ate pizza, DD played, I pushed her on the swings, my mothers helper took over because I had to waddle home to pee and DD wanted to play more {I lasted an hour though!}

Had friends over to play in sprinkler/sat outside/watered the plants/picked some mint

Went to Crab Shack for dinner! Ate king crab legs, and clams and died of happiness. Went for walk on Hudson River and admired view of Manhattan + the pinkish moon.

Bedtime today was hellish because it was way passed DD's bedtime, the kitten was feeling sassy, and DH got her riled up. Needless to say, this momma lost her patience BUT bedtime came. Now it's MY bed time

Not a lot, really. Got up late, made scrambled eggs for brunch, finished sewing a skirt for me with a gathered pocket, painted some little leters to stick on DD's whiteboard/blackboard art station, which I'm planning to revamp in steampunk style; did a little editing, hung some washing, had a bath with DD, made a lazy dinner of ravioli, but made baked pumpkin custard for dessert, went for a walk to buy batteries (unsuccessfully!) and watched Dr Who Confidential.

I've been depressed lately, so this was actually a relatively productive day. If only DH hadn't said he didn't like the skirt, I'd be fairly content. He took the baby for a walk though.... that was good.

Smokering, that's a productive day for anyone, IMO! That's waaaaay more than I did on Friday, when I laid on the couch with a headache and grumped at anyone who crossed my path. Your skirt sounds really cool and I bet it looks nice.

Today's been good so far. After breakfast (toast and smoothies) the kids and I walked to the park, then came home and read/played for a while. I gave them a snack of raisins and crackers and then put DD down for a nap, then I made a scavenger hunt for DS with a surprise of a suncatcher craft kit at the end. He made the suncatcher, then we sat in the backyard and I filled up 50 water balloons (ouchy fingers!) to play with when DH gets home. We just came back inside and I made lunch (ham and cheese sandwiches) and am eating mine while browsing MDC.

When DD gets up I'll probably fill up the kiddie pool and we'll play in the backyard and have a snack of homemade chocolate/buttermilk cake and homemade lemonade -- yum! When DH gets home DS is going to tell him to put on his swimming suit and we're going to surprise him with the water balloons and play some games (balloon-on-spoon race, toss games, etc.). We're having an easy dinner of tortellini soup and probably more cake for dessert, then DH will do bath/bed for the kids and then the two of us will watch a movie (The Hurt Locker) before heading to bed ourselves.

I should say so that it doesn't appear that our lives are all sunshine and butterflies, this is an exceptionally ideal/fun day for us -- DH is miserable at work lately and the end of the school year was hard on me, and we've been in a rut of just surviving lately, so now that school is over we're making an effort to inject a fun, celebratory feeling into our summer and do more than just the basics.

Got up at 730 and drank my coffee and chatted with my dad online.
Got the kids up and dressed to take dd to camp, where she promptly flipped out and wouldn't go to camp.
Dragged all the comforters to the laundry mat to wash, went to Target, Walmart and the accountant. Mailed some stuff.
Picked up the comforters to bring them home to dry.
Browned some chicken and tossed it into the crock pot with potatoes, rosemary, thyme, oregano, lemon and white wine.
Laid on the couch the rest of the day while ds (my formerly sweet 9 year old) did all my chores as a consequence of being just terrible the last few weeks.

Dd has been playing Playmobil, people and her little princess dolls all day. Ds is only allowed to read, clean or entertain his sister so dd has been quite happy.

Not a normal day for sure! Very lazy.

Yesterday we just did some shopping at Trader Joe's, brought lunch to DH at work, DS and I played board games during DD's nap, then when DH got home DS and I went to Disneyland and stayed until 11:00. It was really fun, but I'm tired.

Today we had breakfast, weeded and watered the yard, played with the neighbor girl for a bit, and had lunch. Neighbor girl is going to come back to visit our hamster in a couple hours, then when DH gets home I'm going to work (WAH) for the rest of the night.

I love this thread - writing down what we did makes me realize that we did more than I give myself credit for!

6:30 DH brought 13 mo DD to me to nurse. Nursed her, then made us both breakfast and we ate together while I checked my email, etc.

7:15 a.m. 5 yo DS woke up & sat with us at the computer for a minute.

7:45 - DH went to work. made bfast for DS, then I played intermittently with the kids while emptying DW/straightening kitchen/doing laundry.

9:00 - DD took a 45 minute nap - I helped DS clean up his Lego land area in the playroom, talked on the phone to my sister, then took a very quick shower as DD had woken up & was NOT happy!

10:15 snacks for DD & DS, cup of milk for DD

10:45 head to the library, DD cries all the way there and all the way home, but was happy in the library! Checked out books for all 3 of us & DS chose a Christmas movie

11:45 Home for lunch and then played with the kids until nap time

1:00 nap for DD, while I prepped lasagna for dinner and took 5 minutes to eat a PB&J and get on the computer.

2:00 DD up - nursed, finished lasagna, folded laundry, got DS ready for swim lessons at 3:30.

3:00 get in the car to go to swim lessons, see rain cloud, call the YMCA to find out that swim lessons have been canceled. Turn around and drive home.

3:30-5 play with kids in DD's room (which we hardly ever do) and then in family room where we dance and listen to music.

5:30 - DH gets home, dinner, bath for DD and DS & DH head to Karate. Played with DD until 7 when she went to bed! Now I'm on mothering!

Not a very productive day in terms of housework/errands, but I did spend a TON of time playing with the kids!

Woke up at 7:30 to work... DS woke up at 10 and we shared some TJ's veggie dumplings for breakfast.

Went to the playground with some friends.

Came home around 1 & had lunch, DS is getting very good with a fork!!

2-3pm was not my proudest moment... fought to get DS to sleep (usually isn't so hard) and yelled at him for playing with the outlets constantly. Finally decided I need to replace the outlets with the built-in safety ones.

He napped from 3-5 while I worked... Then we played outside until DH came home.

Was going to take a walk but I was too tired so I've been laying down while DH plays with DS & cooks dinner.

Pretty typical, uneventful day, minus my pre-nap mental breakdown...

Today I spent most of the day reading house plan books or surfing the web. I did babysit my nephews for a couple hours this morning. I made my kids breakfast, lunch and snack. I cuddled with my toddler for a while before he would take his nap. I put a batch of clothes washing and they are still in the washer. I watered my garden, put my clean dishes away and swept my kitchen floor. Oh, and lets not forget that I made at least one trip to the bathroom every hour. Plus, I changed at least five diapers.

got up to see my husband off at 5:45, checked email, let the chickens out of the coop, made the kids breakfast, went to the farmers market, took my ODD to VBS, had coffee with a girlfriend, went to the gym, home for a quick rest before picking ODD up from VBS, lunch, cleaned the chicken coop, watched movies with the kids, did laundry and then made dinner. my life!

DS2 woke up at 4am and decided it was time to get up for the day. Battled with him but made him stay in bed until 6.30am (think I dozed in between then).
Put movie on for DS2 then went back to bed.
Got up at 8am (really late!) called my Dad to ask if he could take DS1 to kindy.
Made the boys breakfast, made DS1 lunch, packed his backpack, downed a couple of cups of tea.
Sent boys off with Dad.
Browned some meat and then chucked it in the crockpot for dinner.
Did a load of washing.
Tidied up house.
Tried to nap, didn't succeed.
Boys came home at 1pm. Mucked around. Talked to my friend on the phone.
Did the dishes.
Tidied up DS1 room. Yelled at kids to stop messing up room while I was trying to tidy it. Tidied up house. Vacuumed.
Went down the road to pharmacy and shop. Came home and put away groceries.
Got boys dinner.
Played FairyLand with DS1 on Facebook.
Picked up DH from work at 6pm.
Came home got boys in bath. Gave DH his dinner.
Got DS2 ready for bed.
Got DS2 into bed.
Got DS1 into bed.
Watched America's Next Top Model while going in and out to DS1.
Watched Glee and hung out with DH. DH went to bed at 10pm. Played around on internet.
DS2 woke up. Took ages to get DS2 off to sleep again.
Got up and tidied up, put leftovers in the freezer, sorted out dishes, wrote this list and it's now 11.30pm and I will be going to bed very shortly!

What a fun-to-read thread!

Today, we woke up and had waffles. I read a stack of library books to DD. Then I needle felted her a new toy - a bunny and a carrot. After that, we both had a nice nap.

After we woke up, we showered and I shaved and did a load of laundry. Then I made grilled cheese sandwiches and we went to the library. After that, I sat outside and read while DD ran around in the mown grass and threw tufts of grass into the wind.

Then we went to the natural food store and got some groceries and a treat - a cookie and a chocolate almond milk. Then we came home and played with Playdough, colored with crayons, and drew on DD's chalkboard. I read more books and we watched a video about animals.

We played in the yard and watched Daddy take apart and repair our window screen. I washed the dishes (by hand), and then I made dinner (fish and broccoli). After dinner, I took some old business cards and wrote words on the back of them like "bed," "door," "potty," "sink," and taped them up around the house. DD is learning how to read.

Then it was bedtime, so I put DD to bed and now here I am Oops! I still have to hang some laundry out to dry!
