4 month sleep regression- when will it get better?

So honesty here. For people who have been through this did it ever get better for you and about when did it get better? My little rug-rat is fighting naps like you wouldn't believe and throws absolute tantrums because she is so tired all day. And now she is up every 2 hours at night too! So will i really see improvement in a month or so or will we eventually have to do some kind of sleep training (No Cry Nap Solution is in the mail on it's way) to get her to sleep for longer stretches at night?

THANKS!

The exact day that my daughter finished her nineteenth week of life. Seriously. There is a book called "Wonder Weeks" by a pair of dutch researchers and it is priceless for predicting when these periods of misery will begin and end. Oh! and, if you haven't already, try typing "four month sleep regression" into the search box on the blog Ask Moxie.

I hope this is true. My 18.5 week old (I think I'm counting that right, sorta gave up on weeks a while ago) just started a beautiful nap & nighttime sleep schedule 2 days ago. I have this little fantasy that now it's going to be like this forever.

Hmm, and if you buy the concept of adjusting for postmaturity, that would make her 19.5 weeks (again, assuming I have any counting skills left)

Have you tried swaddling? Sometimes they go through periods of learning such new and exciting things that it's harder for them to sleep. Even if you've stopped swaddling, sometimes it helps to go back to it for a few naps here and there.

Mine took about 3 weeks to get back to sleeping well at night. Naps have never been good or consistent or predictable, so I have no idea on that!

Hate to break it to you, but some kids take longer than others. We're at 9 mos and still sleeping for crap. I daydream about the "good" sleep I used to get before the 4 mo sleep regression.

My babe started regressing back to needing to nurse every 2-3 hours at night (going from 6-8) a couple weeks ago and she's 12 weeks. I also think she's been teething since then. Is that what's happening around 4 months for most babies? What IS the 4 month sleep regression?
