I am new to TF and reading everything I can get my hands on. I found Weston Price's writings (haven't read it all yet) on dental issues in traditional cultures particularly interesting.
So when I took my 4-year-old to the dentist yesterday for his first check up and cleaning and was told that he has a narrow dental arch and narrow nostrils leading to mouth breathing and tooth grinding my heart sank. He said he would need an appliance when he was 8 or so to widen his arch. I feel sad that I had not read about TF earlier, knowing that my mostly vegetarian pregnancy probably created this for my kiddo.
So here is my question. Is it too late? Has he already formed this narrow dental arch, or will eating TF as he continues to grow help to grow these bones in a healthier shape? Are there foods I should really focus on? I feel sad that while I was doing what I thought was best for me and my baby, I actually was restricting the nutrients he needed to be healthy. Any ideas or advice would be great.
