Vegetable Garden Questions

Thread Starter
This is only my second year with a garden and I am learning a little more each year. I have a few questions that I am really stumped by:

1. My zucchini plants are not producing fruit. THey are growing like crazy and flowering, but the flowers are not turning into fruit... Isn't that weird? Why are they doing that?

2. I have carpenter ants that have made a nest under one of my zucchini plants. It is so big that they have dug up some of the root! How can I kill them? Will cornmeal work? Could this be why they aren't producing?

3. My tomatoes got septoria leaf spot and I had to prune them completely Will they grow back or should I dig them up and replant tomatoes elsewhere?

Thank you for any help you can give me!

Zucchini produces both male and female flowers. The female ones are the only ones that set fruit. So you probably have a plant that is not yet ready to set the fruit...keep waiting and it should if it continues to thrive.

Here is a link to tell ya more.

I am guessing that with the tomatoes you will have to plant elsewhere...but hopefully someone will know more about that than I do. Ants... I hate 'em, but have no idean how to kill them.
