This past Monday my six-year-old son feel into a koi pond at my in-laws house. He says that he didn't drink any water. The top of his head was wet so that makes me think that he may have accidentally drank some of the water after all. The pond has a rain-gutter that allows fresh rain water to flow into the pond. I still think the pond isn't the cleanest. I think it is a bit odd that he is getting sick now. I would have expected him to get sick the next day, sooner than now. Any thoughts?

Parasitic infections generally take a while to show up. Some bacterial ones do as well. Most will clear in time (though it can take weeks to even months of come and go issues with some parasitic ones). If it doesn't run a metametrix stool test to figure out what you've got and how to treat it. But very likely he'll clear whatever it is on his own though he may be sick for a couple of weeks.
High quality probiotics and/or probiotic foods are your best bets no matter what you've got. I hope he feels better soon!
