Help! DD is not peeing!

DD woke up this morning at 7 and peed. It's almost 11 and she STILL has not peed (she's already in underwear so I'd definitely know). She's had water, nurse 3 times... Our apt was really, really warm, so she was sweating a lot but I turned on the AC now so it's cool. Anything I can do to help her? She'll ask to sit on the potty every now and then and stand up and say "pee pee" like she just did something but it's always empty...

I've even given her ice cubes to tried to get more water in her. I think she has to poop because she's been passing some gas. Could constipation be affecting her?

I get very confused with the time stamps on posts, but it sounds like you were writing after no pee from 7am to 11am... if that's true, it's pretty normal at our house. Your girl is 18 months, right? She's old enough now to make you crazy by choosing to hold it if she wants to, and my son has been doing that for a long time. The attempts may be her way of experimenting with bladder control. I offer a pee at wake up but if 2 more hours go by after a dry night (!) and still no pee, we just go play naked outside and in this way I get around his will power issues. If naked outside is an option, give that a shot. If not, how about a mid-day bath before nap? Playing naked in the bathroom is an easy clean-up if she misses the potty.

Without drawing attention to how closely you are watching her pees, just keep giving fluids that you know she likes (ice cubes, smoothies, water from mama's bottle) and be patient. If it's a control/ will power/ learning issue, she'll go on her own when she forgets that she's trying not to go!

And constipation could be part of it, but toddler psychology seems more likely to me. At that age my son would sometimes say he needed to pee when he meant he needed to poop...

Yeah, it ended up being 4.5 hours without peeing, which is really rare for DD. She then had an accident but because she decided she had to pee right when i was already on the toilet and by the time I was done she had peed already.

Then we went on a marathon of peeing. But I'm thinking something else is going on. She pretty much ate no lunch AND she's been scratching her butt like crazy. I ended up having to dump half a bottle of aloe vera all over her body to get her to stop itching. She also woke up an hour earlier than normal today, so I'm sure that affected things. It just seems like something is off today...

could it be a UTI? they can make you feel like you have to pee alot, but you don't pee very much, so she might say pee pee even though she didn't go and be scratching at her butt if she is uncomfortable and feeling like she needs to pee.

hmm... maybe? Are there any other signs I should be looking for? She's been going long periods without peeing again today (4 hours). I've tried to keep her in pants all day so she doesn't have any scratch marks, but she's been itching her head like crazy instead???

She seems like she is in a better mood today but the only way she'd sleep for a nap was me scratching her head for her for a long time.
