Do you believe an acupuncturist can tell if you're pregnant from your pulse?

I am on my 2WW on my second round of Clomid. After 3 losses.

I have been going to an acupuncturist and today she told me that my pulse was quite wiry - which apparently is the opposite of what it would be if I was pregnant. I am only 5 DPO and already I have lost all hope. I am just crushed. Does anyone out there have any experience of incorrect acupuncture/ pulse diagnoses?

5DPO is WAY to earlry to know!

your little egg hasnt even implanted yet! there is no way she could know, because your body, and the egg dont even know yet.

I have asked several acupuncturists that I have seen if it is possible for them to tell through pulse if someone is pregnant and or the gender of the baby. Most of them have said that this type of skill takes years of refinement and that only very long practicing or incredibly gifted practitioners have this ability. So what I am saying is who knows if she is that gifted. Maybe not!

Yes, absolutely, but as the other posters said, not that early for sure.

My acupuncturist told me my pulse was slippery at about the same dpo... Apparently a slippery pulse is a pregnant pulse...
I wasn't pregnant. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Thanks for the messages. I am trying not to be so desolate, and at least be optimistic until I have some reason not to be. But it's just hard. Thanks again.

I think it probably depends on the acupuncturist.

That being said, my acupuncturist DID KNOW that I was pregnant before I even had a thought or clue, by my pulse.

She was trained in China, and had practiced for over 20 yrs. She also was an ob.gyn in China as well, and her speciality in acupuncture was female issues.

So I would say she was one who had lots of skill in that area. Yours might or might not.

bottom line is that even if an egg was fertilized when you O'd, at 5dpo you are NOT preggo yet, preggo takes implantation and that outside of very rare circumstances does not happen at 5 DPO

have hope and spare yourself the naysayers, you dont need that

I went to my acupuncturist today and asked her for you - she said they can definitely tell whether someone IS pregnant by their pulse, but that just like a pregnancy test, WHEN they can tell depends on the person. She said with some people you can tell very early, with others it takes several days before the pulse changes. 5 dpo is VERY early - don't lose hope!
