So we go to the local playground 2-3 times a week. DS1 (almost 4) loves to play with the giant green slide - it`s the type that has a curve and is covered. Problem is, he also likes to climb up from the bottom, which I totally forbid him from doing. The playground does get busy at times, and there have been incidents, so from where I stand, this is not negotiable; he has to use the stairs, or stay away from the slide. Most parenst also enforce this ''rule'', but not all. Today, 2 older boys (5 and 6, maybe) kept trying to climb up, so DS1 would try to follow them. I spent the entire time trying to pry him away, but the other parents didn`t do anything. A little girl (maybe 2) was coming down just when one of the older boys lept up, and she got hurt. She was crying, and still the other parents did not even attempt to stop the boys from climbing up.
DS1 thinks it`s not fair that they don`t get told to stop. Am I wrong here?
