On June 24 (our 11 year wedding anniversary) at 11:27pm, our little Lauren Elizabeth was born via c-section. She was 7#12oz. and 20.5" long. I'm going to write out the whole birth story soon, but dh took the laptop home that I had started it on.
Lauren is just the sweetest little thing ever. She looks SO much like dd2. I can already see an impish little gleam in her eyes.
She loves to eat. She latched on perfectly as soon as we got up to our room. She does not like having her diaper changed, but with 4 bm's just in the first day, she's going to have to get used to that.
I'm doing surprisingly well. I was able to get up and take a shower yesterday. Dh keeps saying how my attitude with labor and now afterward is really different for me. I think it has to do a lot with making peace with the idea of another c-section. My biggest complaint is that I'm so ITCHY! I'm retaining water to the point where my skin just HURTS in places. I have absolutely no ankles and everything from the waist down looks like a sausage. I've been drinking tons of water, but I guess I'll have to increase that even more. I'll probably be in the hospital until Monday or Tuesday, so I'll have plenty of time to do nothing but drink water, write out the birth story, and upload pictures.
