Final Sidney the cat update

I had him put down yesterday.

He started to show signs of being in pain and so we decided it was time. He was almost 16 and was a super special cal to me- when we brought him home as a kitten, I was very apprehensive because I was NOT an animal person. Sidney taught me how to love animals.

This is the second time I have had a cat euthanized and I was again surprised at how quick the process is. All evening and this morning I keep thinking about him and I even called out his name once. DS is managing okay- he cried before bed that he didn't want Sidney to be dead.

I'm so sorry
ETA I meant to tell you about Hippo. We made the decision to put her down also when she was in terrible pain and nothing helped. It's so hard.

I am sorry for your loss, it is so hard to loose a pet.

I'm so sorry. I had to have one of my kitties with very advanced cancer put down a couple years ago and it was so incredibly hard. But as time passed my first thoughts of her shifted back to the good times, when she was healthy and happy, not to the last time I saw her at the end. If you're like me then those memories at the end may be the first ones to pop in your mind when you think of him, that's why I wanted to share that.
