I've wanted a yurt for awhile, but just now looking at the picture I've come to realize that it would not work with a toddler. "climbing? climbing? CLIMBING?!??!?!?!!?!??? Nooooooooooo Climbing!!!!!" x 24 hours a day x 7 days in a week.

Similar to a yurt, there's also www.pacificdomes.com - geodesic domes. I've been eyeing those for years.

Funny, I'm thinking of coming up to your area in northern vermont and setting up a yurt to live in.

I've never been up that far though... I once went to Burlington (by ferry from the Lake Placid, NY area) and otherwise don't go further north than woodstock-ish.

Was kind of wondering if they have a good local food scene up there... and how hard is it to get your basics taken care of (grocery store, gas station, mechanic, hardware store, pharmacy)?
