Reusable Wipes?

Ok, so this may be a silly question...but I am getting CD and would really like to use reusable wipes. Cuz gosh, you can just throw them in the same wash!! I have a TON of the little soft baby washcloths.

Ok, so the question is, can I keep a day's worth of these wet? Like keep them in one of the wipe containers? I can't wet one for each diaper change...my son is 10 weeks and still poops with most diapers. Call me lazy, lol. But I'll be honest, I won't do it. Any suggestions?

yes. I've had no problem with one day's worth wet- that's what I usually do. Over a couple of days they start to smell sour.

Just a drop or two of tea tree oil and some mild baby soap in the water that you keep the wipes in will help prevent the mildewy smell- even if you don't use all the wipes in one day. I used to use cloth wipes in our wipe warmer and they would last at least 2 days with no problems.

tbh- i keep a little bottle of water next to my wipes. it is the peri bottle i got from the hosp. i lay baby down then grab a wipe and squirt it. i didnnt like keeping them wet. i think they start to stink after a couple of hours....

I keep a squeezy bottle of water next to the pile of wipes and wet 'em as I go. But I also keep damp cloth wipes in a wipes container in my diaper bag and they're ok for a day.

Once you use cloth wipes, you're unlikely to go back to disposable wipes. The few times I've had to use disposables, I end up swearing because it takes three of them to wipe up the poo they've just smeared all over DS' little bum. Cloth wipes don't do that....

Like pp, I keep a water bottle with the wipes and wet them as I go. Bonus is that my guy finds the water bottle fascinating, so after i wet the wipes, he gets to play with it, and that way I can get his butt clean without him trying to crawl away.

I keep mine wet, stored in a cloth wipes warmer, which holds 2-3 days worth (about 60 flannel wipes). They've never become stinky or moldy.

LOVE cloth wipes - so much more effective than disposables! I used to wet them as needed, but then we got a wipes warmer so I wet a bunch at a time and keep them in there. I squirt a little soap (currently Dr. Bronners because it's what I have, but baby wash works too) and a little oil (I alternate between sweet almond oil and this Kissaluv's mixture) into a bottle with some water, shake it up, and use it to wet the wipes. I find they last somewhere between 1-2 days in the warmer without getting mildewy.

But my water is a mixed with a little soap. It's great because I keep one bottle in the diaper bag and one at home so I'm always ready to go.

i use thin flannel wipes that i ordered from GMD, and the tea tree and soap mixture - 3 or 4 drops of each per 4 cups of water.

my wipes last for days and don't smell at all. in fact, i can just add new ones to the box and not even take the old out.

i recently tried a thicker terry cloth wipe and found the ones in the box did start to smell!

just thought i'd chime in, in case you're looking to buy more wipes.
