I found some from one step ahead last summer. They fit like panties under my daughters swimsuit. I ordered a size larger than usual and they have lasted us 2 years. They are really great. They hold everything in. They were about $10 a pair but since we swim 3-4 times a week the cost was totally worth it.

We have the Imse Vimse one. It's very nice - side-snapping so easy to get on and off. I got a matching tankini top and it is pretty much like a two-piece swimsuit.

Last summer we just used BumGenius under DS' trunks. I figured as long as they held the poop in we were good, and they did. We've also used fitteds with Gerber covers in the pool too. Those filled with water a bit more than the Bum Genius.

Really any well fitting cloth diaper cover works exactly like a swim diaper. Swim diapers are not meant to hold pee at all, they only prevent poop from leaking out. I never bought a swim diaper. I would put a cover on that was a size smaller than we usually used, and made sure it was snug under DS's swim trunks and he was good to go.

Pumpkin Pie thank you, I was wondering this same thing, I was going to buy a swim diaper or two, but we're on a very tight budget, I like the idea of just using what I already have for now.

I have an imse vimse 3-6 month that ds2 (10.5 months) still fits in, barely. Otherwise, all last summer I just put a bg 2.0 w/o the insert on ds1 and it worked just fine.

I use an old pocket diaper (unstuffed) that I don't use for any other purpose. Works great!

I'd be careful just using a cover or unstuffed pocket. The chlorine can wear down the PUL .. leaving you with leaking covers! Bummis makes some really cute swim diapers. They have a mesh inside that help hold the poo and they aren't expensive (much cheaper than having to replace ruined covers!)

I use a regular diaper cover. Agree with pp, don't use your favorite! I'm currently using a cheap dappi cover I bought for my oldest 10 yrs ago.

Pools around here require a plastic diaper cover over all swim diapers (disposie and cloth)

we have the Imse Vimse swim diapers. DD has a narrow frame, so at 24 months and 25 lbs she still fits in the size small we got her last year and she has a matching tankini top. I got DS (2 months) two of the newborn size that fit him pretty well but still have some room to grow. remember that whatever you use shouldn't be absorbent because if it is it will fill with pool water and weigh the baby down.
