How much to charge?

I have an 8.5 month old dd and I've recently been asked if I'd be available to watch a newborn baby who was just adopted by my husband's coworker. I'm not sure if it will be a couple of days a week or all week. I don't really want to, but we REALLY need the money and I'm fairly good with kids and have a degree in early childhood development, so it seems like a reasonable way for me to help with income.

However, I have no idea what to charge per hour. I'd assume the regular responsibilities...diapering, bottle feeding, coordinating naps with my own dd, etc.

Does anyone have any experience with the hourly fee of a daycare or home care?

I would post on local groups to find out what the daily/hourly rate is for childcare in your area. In my area (Baltimore and south), the hourly nanny rate is $10-15. With a degree, I would think you could charge 13-15 if you went to their house, less if they dropped her off.
