Knitted mama cloth pattern?

I'm looking for a knitting or crochet pattern for reusable menstrual pads. Does anyone know of any out there? I searched ravelry and found one, but it's not free. I'd rather a free pattern.

Something like this knitted pad.

Besides what is on rav, the only thing I've found is a tampon http://hyenacart.com/FernandFaerie/i...p?c=37&p=14559

When I was searching rav for mama cloth, I had to play around with my search terms. There is also a group on rav, "period pieces" that may have more info.

I don't know of a pattern but I bet you could make it up as you go. CO 3, knit one row, next row increase one st at beg and end of row, cont doing that until you get the width you want, knit the length that you want, decrease at the end of each row until you have 3 sts, bind off. Then do another one the same way, make wings sew it all together... or something like that.

Take notes, and then share the pattern with us!
