The stress

One day it's wisdom teeth, another day it's a new boyfriend, the day after it's the break up, the day after it's the unhealthy eating habits, and then the driving every time she steps out the door, especially if it's dark, and then getting a job, and then inappropriate pictures, and then her friends, and of course a month later the lack of, and then the grades, and come to find out, she's been offered shrooms, and now soon enough the plan for after she graduates next year... I am not even mentioning the blended family frustrations part here.

I need a paper bag. Seriously. I feel like I've been holding my breath more and more as she's been growing up. I thought this was supposed to get easier with time?

When my two were NB and pre-k, a friend told me it stays crazy and only the details change. I, too, feel that I'm holding my breath through one situation only to catch it just in time for the next. I'm visiting one who's thousands of miles from home, and just got the other out the door for six weeks (couple thousand miles there, too), and my head is still spinning. This is a great ride but sooooo exhausting!

to you!

I hear you, I hear you, I hear you!

Honestly, there isn't enough time to write everything they go through, and everything we go through with them, is there?

I'll share your paper bag with you.

Hang in there...they tell me it gets easier!

I so totally feel your pain.

There is always a new drama around here and I am just exhausted by it...

I think it starts around 8 and doesn't end until they are grown and gone!

But does it end there? I'd hate to miss out on my kids' experiences when they're older...and I know my own dad was a wonderful addition to my (very drama-filled) life when my children were smaller.

I don't think we have a HOPE of losing the drama (even if we wanted to)...but we can maybe expect it to calm down a bit. ? Maybe ?

It sure doesn't end when they're grown and gone. Because sometimes they come back!
