I was rather shocked that my rainbow light multi has no iodine and only 33% RDA of iron. I am suffering from fatigue and have read these 2 vitamins, among others may help prevent fatigue. So what is everyone talking in the way of supplements just for general health? I have read many things about iron overdose, that many american's may be getting too much etc, so what is a good amount of iron for a woman of child bearing age with heavy periods? I am tempted to start supplementing the iron and iodine, but have decided to just taking my multi until after dr. appt so they can check my bloodwork and see if those areas may be deficient.
Good links also appreciated. I know the FDA's RDA for vitamins is very different than many naturopath's recc'd, so i am also interested in hearing those amounts.
Another interesting thing my grandma brought up is the dosage amount, is that based on an average sized woman since it does seem vitamins are one size fits all in the labeling, anyone know about that?
honestly up until a few months ago barely took my daily vitamin, much less anything extra, i try to eat healthy most the time but don't eat red meat or seafood so basically those are the areas that may be needed to be supplemented.
TIA
