"Stranded" On Stomach At Night

Help!

DD used to be a back sleeper, but now at 4.5 months she starts on her side and ends up on her stomach after she's asleep. I don't mind, BUT she wakes up and throws a fit that she's on her stomach. I roll her off, but then she rolls right back onto it. This is happening several times through the night and she has difficulty falling back asleep each time. It's wearing me out! I've tried putting a wedged blanket by her so she can't get on her stomach, but didn't work.

Any ideas? Again, I don't mind that she's sleeping on her stomach, but when she wakes she freaks out and doesn't roll off it.

yep. i think eventually they just learn to sleep on their stomachs but it took us a while of flipping. then i would try to soothe her back to sleep still on her tummy to "teach" her to fall asleep that way. but it seemed like that way she would just wake up again sooner than if i had flipped her back.
now finally at 9 months we're always on our tummy and fine with it but now we have to worry about getting stranded standing up in the crib. it's always something

Well, thanks for each of your responses. I think we'll just do a lot more tummy living for the next week or so and see if that helps. She knows how to flip to her back, just doesn't seem to remember in the middle of the night.
