My 2year old dd was diagnosed with a UTI this week. She vomited in the evening, had high fever that occasionally came down but then went up again. We also missed the warning sign---she has been potty trained for a while but suddenly was wetting the floor all of the time. That was Wednesday evening into Thursday morning that she had high fever, etc. Since then she has been on an antibiotic and seems better.

My other daughter, however, came down with a high fever last night. All day she was acting kind of strange, and she also has been having potty "accidents" like peeing in her panties, etc. She's almost five, so that behavior is most unusual. Could she also have a UTI? Could these be related?

I don't understand --- a UTI is not "contagious" --- can this really be mere coincidence?
